White Hair – ‘Identifying the Primary Causes’

Wearing white hair is one of the most dreadful feelings in life. It not only makes you feel insecure about your looks, but also subjects you to endless questions and ridicule from the world. Sometimes you may even feel awkward in making it to the hair salon to seek remedies and treatment. You may consult a professional hair stylist to know what’s going wrong and the following are the things that he might have to say.

Melanin Deficiency & Hormonal Imbalance

Diminished levels of melanin can lead to the prevalence of white hair. Proper intake of nutrients and protein supplements is directly linked to the production levels of melanin. White hair emerges when the melanin level drops down to below par. Apart from melanin, the pigmentation of hair can also be associated with the hormones in our body. Often, hormonal imbalance can also lead to white hair.

Smoking Tobacco

Your professional hair stylist will definitely ask you to cut down on tobacco consumption, especially in the form of cigarettes. It is a proven fact that excessive smoking multiplies the chances of the growth of white hair. Apart from white hair growth, it might also cause detriment to your hair by making it excessively dull and brittle. Thus, quitting smoking is imperative.

Hair Loss

One might ask, how on earth does hair loss lead to white hair. The resounding fact is, ‘it just does’. If you are not taking enough care of your hair, it will inadvertently lead to hair fall or hair loss. Now when the hair grows back again, the new strands have lesser pigment than the original hair. This holds true more often when you are ageing. As a result, white hair may appear on your head and you might be left wondering why. Thus, effective hair care should be taken in order to prevent excessive hair loss which in turn leads to white hair.

Lack of Vitamin B-12

The intake of Vitamin B-12 is significant for your health. Often when there is a lack of this vitamin in the diet, it might lead to a state known as pernicious anemia. During this condition, the hair starts to lose its’ pigmentation and the consistent intake of the vitamin can reverse this effect. Vitamin B-12 can be found in abundance in animal meat such as beef, pork, chicken, etc. Vegetarians can resort to vegetables, fruits and dairy products.

High Stress Levels

Stress causes hair to become white. Is it a fact or a myth? According to a 2013 New York University study, researchers found out that a few hormones are produced while an individual is under stress. These hormones caused detriment to the hair by depleting the melanocyte stem cells that provided color to the hair. This caused hair to turn white. However, there are other researches that oppose this point and say that there is no direct connection between the two. In any case, it’s better that you try and stay stress free.

Usage of harmful chemicals

It is always wise to confirm from your professional hair stylist the hair products that you are using. This is because harmful chemicals like sulfates and phosphates might be present in the product that you are using. These chemicals can make your hair excessively dry by soaking out all the moisture. They can also considerably weaken the roots of your hair and as a result, increase the chances of the prevalence of white hair. Therefore, it is important that you have enough knowledge and information about a hair product before using it.

Things you need

  • Rat tail comb

  • Few rubber bands

  • Hair Spray (optional)

So let’s get started.

double braided hairstyles

It is basically an Edgy French Braid Ponytail tutorial which goes perfectly for clean and greasy hair as well, but your hair needs to be at least shoulder length to get the style.

  1. To start with, you need to section the front portion of your hair into a “V” and continue doing a French Braid. As you need a wide braid in the front, so start taking a bigger section at the front. After taking the front hair potion, continue braiding just like the normal with the front section only. Secure it with a rubber band. You can use hair spray to get a perfect finish.

  2. Next, continue with the upside down braiding of your hair. Take a large section of hair from the back, divide it into three sections and continue braiding just like the normal french braid. Secure it with elastic and use hair spray for a perfect braid.

  3. After completing two braids, you should have two neat french braids (normal and upside down) and two loose sides of your hair without any braids.

  4. Now, you need to join these two sides into a high ponytail. To do this, brush the sides well and then secure the two braids and these loose hair portions together with a good band to get the perfect braided ponytail.

  5. Open your braids after the making ponytail to get the high upside down french braided ponytail.

French braid ponytail comes with different styles and hairdos that should make you remember among your friends and folks.

However, this hair style is not very suitable if you have a high forehead. But don’t worry, there is an alternative hairdo much similar to this one for you too.

  1. For this style, you need to braid two sides of your hair and get two neat braids. You can apply hair spray to get a neat look.

  2. Tease the front portion of your hair for the ponytail to add extra texture to your hair. You should start it from the back edges of your hair.

  3. You can add further styling by allowing some loose bangs to highlight your face and finish it off with hair spray.

Tips For The Style

  1. It is normal to feel that you are going wrong when making the upside down braid, as you cannot see your braid. It happened to me, and I had to redo it twice. But, if you can make a normal front french braid, stay confident as you can do the upside down one too. No need for any REDO.

  2. Use hair sprays to keep your braid neat and out of any mess.

  3. If you have curly hair, your hair will easily get tangled. To avoid this, brush your hair often while styling and keep it tangle-free.

If you want to achieve a voluminous hair, you can make your hair wavy overnight and that too naturally. All you need is to do is dampen your hair, make 3 -4 braids (however you feel like) and get a good sleep with these braids. The next morning you will get up with nice and wavy hair.

Wavy hair creates a great voluminous braid. So, go for it and enjoy braiding!

You can also style it to double braided side ponytail, double braided messy bun, and double braided side messy bun too.

Hope this post help you in braiding and styling. I am looking for your happy feedback on the same.

Ombre Hair Color: Trending Style of 2016

Ombre reminds me of Mermaids and the Fairytale Princesses. If you are naturally blessed with lovely curls and wavy locks, or even are a owner of perfect straight locks, feel free to choose ombre hair color not just because it offers plenty of color options, but also as you can do it in super inexpensive ways. You can even DO IT YOURSELF.

  • Mermaid Ombre – Perfect for Curly and Wavy hair

Most of the girls want to be that adorable little mermaid of our bedtime stories. But that red locks is not that likeable for all. Thankfully, now the RED has completely been replaced by a soft blend of cerulean, turquoise, and silver hue. A little pinch of well-blended teal hue just at the ends of your blonde hair will bring you that perfect mermaid looks that you always cherished.

This trend is perfect for cool and pale toned girls. Blonde hair is ideal for the styling, as it needs less effort to bring live to that color.

However, if you have the curly coil hair, a subtle ombre hair styling will suit you best. It instantly freshen up and provide you a sun-kissed look. Warm or caramel skin tone goes well with this look. You can end up your styling by trying out a French Braid.

  • Bronze Ombre

Rich dark brown hair (or even black hair) flowing down to caramel brown also presents an eye soothing Ombre style. Pairing your locks with some extra volume should turn heads wherever you go!

If warm color flatters your skin tone, bronze hair color should be your selection. Dark hair with brown roots makes it easy to achieve this style. While blondes may find it difficult, as they need to dye the entire length to get the desired outcome, it should be an easy style tip for the Asian counterparts.

You can also make your ombre pop by adding volumes to it and curling it using hair rollers. To get an additional effect, consider adding nice curls into lightened ends.

The interplay of brunette hair color and warmer tones suits the Asian skin tone. This look works great with added volume by backcombing the base.

  • Contrasting Ombre

This is another example of combination hair color, where medium to dark brown locks can enjoy a subtle flow into bright blonde. This marks a bold statement and is quite easy to maintain. This combination also looks fabulous in updos and braids.

Though lighter skin tone always looks stunning with this styling, but you can also get this look if you have a dark skin tone after judging the perfect color that suits your skin tone and then customizing the style.

If your hair is long and strong, it is wise to consider end lightening, as with this you can achieve the Ombre look without damaging the ends.

  • Dipped Ombre

Many times we fail to select between the warm and cool tone and end up with an inappropriate hair color selection. But with Ombre coloring, you cannot make any mistake!

Even if you are confused, you can add light and dark hue alike! A very common dipped ombre combination is the dark chocolate hue that transits into sandy blonde. This works well with almost all skin tone and best suits an olive, golden and peach complexion.

  • Ribbon Ombre Look

This is one of the hottest trends of 2016, and will surely race long. Blonde looks amazing with the ribbon ombre look. You can add ribbons of twisted pink within your curls. Ribbon highlights offer a wide variety of colors including carnation pink, bubblegum pink, strawberry pink, magenta. But if you are not a PINK hue fan, you can try the same hair styling with lavender, tangerine, scarlet or even teal hue.

The ribbon looks can be carried easily by any skin tone. Even if your hair is damaged, grab some bright colors to get the look and cover up your damages.

  • Reverse Ombre

Ombre hairstyle does not always mean darker at the roots and lighter to the ends, you can reverse the idea to get a flawless reverse ombre hair color. Reverse Ombre looks best on blondes who have natural light-colored roots. You can add a warm mahogany transition from bright blonde to retain the lightness around your face. A lighter tip and dark end make the hair look naturally thick and smooth.

Blondes looking for edgy look love reverse ombre. This edgy looked reverse ombre is great for medium to light-toned ladies who love their blonde but want something different. Thick to medium hair with wavy, soft curls, or straight should carry this look well.

  • Patterned Ombre

This is another bold hair trend of 2016 that Millennials are embracing slowly. Your ombre hair (both reverse and natural ombre can head for this trend) will be stamped creating a fresh look. You can ask your stylist to be creative with leopard print, flower, patterns and almost anything. You can even surprise your beloved with heart patterned ombre on your big day.

This may be the first time pattern coloring for your hair stylist. So, allow them some preparation time and let them practice well, before they style your hair. You can also ask them to choose a semi-permanent color that will fade away with time. Moreover, if you are not sure with the pattern ombre looks, you can also try a pattern hair extension and then head to the permanent color pattern.
