white hair causes

White Hair – ‘Identifying the Primary Causes’

Wearing white hair is one of the most dreadful feelings in life. It not only makes you feel insecure about your looks, but also subjects you to endless questions and ridicule from the world. Sometimes you may even feel awkward in making it to the hair salon to seek remedies and treatment. You may consult a professional hair stylist to know what’s going wrong and the following are the things that he might have to say.

Melanin Deficiency & Hormonal Imbalance

Diminished levels of melanin can lead to the prevalence of white hair. Proper intake of nutrients and protein supplements is directly linked to the production levels of melanin. White hair emerges when the melanin level drops down to below par. Apart from melanin, the pigmentation of hair can also be associated with the hormones in our body. Often, hormonal imbalance can also lead to white hair.

Smoking Tobacco

Your professional hair stylist will definitely ask you to cut down on tobacco consumption, especially in the form of cigarettes. It is a proven fact that excessive smoking multiplies the chances of the growth of white hair. Apart from white hair growth, it might also cause detriment to your hair by making it excessively dull and brittle. Thus, quitting smoking is imperative.

Hair Loss

One might ask, how on earth does hair loss lead to white hair. The resounding fact is, ‘it just does’. If you are not taking enough care of your hair, it will inadvertently lead to hair fall or hair loss. Now when the hair grows back again, the new strands have lesser pigment than the original hair. This holds true more often when you are ageing. As a result, white hair may appear on your head and you might be left wondering why. Thus, effective hair care should be taken in order to prevent excessive hair loss which in turn leads to white hair.

Lack of Vitamin B-12

The intake of Vitamin B-12 is significant for your health. Often when there is a lack of this vitamin in the diet, it might lead to a state known as pernicious anemia. During this condition, the hair starts to lose its’ pigmentation and the consistent intake of the vitamin can reverse this effect. Vitamin B-12 can be found in abundance in animal meat such as beef, pork, chicken, etc. Vegetarians can resort to vegetables, fruits and dairy products.

High Stress Levels

Stress causes hair to become white. Is it a fact or a myth? According to a 2013 New York University study, researchers found out that a few hormones are produced while an individual is under stress. These hormones caused detriment to the hair by depleting the melanocyte stem cells that provided color to the hair. This caused hair to turn white. However, there are other researches that oppose this point and say that there is no direct connection between the two. In any case, it’s better that you try and stay stress free.

Usage of harmful chemicals

It is always wise to confirm from your professional hair stylist the hair products that you are using. This is because harmful chemicals like sulfates and phosphates might be present in the product that you are using. These chemicals can make your hair excessively dry by soaking out all the moisture. They can also considerably weaken the roots of your hair and as a result, increase the chances of the prevalence of white hair. Therefore, it is important that you have enough knowledge and information about a hair product before using it.

For Beautiful Long hair – ‘Maintenance is the Key’

Long hair definitely enhances the beauty in a woman. Not only can one possessing long hair resort to different kinds of styling, but she can also ensure that she receives preferential treatment in society due to the richness in look it provides. However, maintenance is the key as otherwise things can go horribly wrong and backfire with dreadful consequences. Remember, all the ghosts in horror movies have long hair. Here is what you need to do.

Know how to use the shampoo and the conditioner

It’s not about just applying them in any way you like. Women with long hair should not shampoo regularly. Although it keeps the hair hydrated and clean, too much shampoo can lead to frizziness and brittle hair as a result of the sulfates present in the shampoo. Thrice a week is just perfect. Conditioner should be used every time you use a shampoo. In case you do not want to use a shampoo, a cleansing conditioner can be the go to product. Always remember that shampoo should be applied to the scalp and conditioner to the ends of the hair. For more technical guidance, one can always take the help of a professional hair stylist.

Dry them with care

Haste makes waste. This is more than applicable for your long hair. It is important that hair is dried with enough care. First the extra water should be soaked out with the help of preferably a soft cloth over a towel. A wide tooth comb is advisable for detangling the locks. The best way to dry is to leave it for air dry. In any case, one should avoid using the towel rigorously for the purpose of drying it fast as this will again lead to frizziness and then result in split ends. Hair dryers are better off in the drawer.

Regular trimming helps

Regular trips to the hair salon for trimming is a must. When long hair is kept untrimmed for a long time, one can associate herself with damaged lock ends and split ends. Regularly trimming hair will ensure that this is avoided and the amount of damaged cuticles due to styling and pollution is limited. Chopping off the unwanted hair will help you get rid of the split ends, make maintaining the length of the hair easier and also promote the growth of healthy hair.

Get the correct ponytail

Ponytails look nice and adorable as long as it is the correct one. Having proper knowledge on the pertinent hair styling ideas for long hair is the key. Women with long hair should avoid getting tight ponytails or any kind of tight hairstyles done on a regular basis. This can lead to hair breakage and cause increased hair fall. Long hair is of no use if you keep losing them. Using cotton bands over rubber bands is definitely the better option. Also ensure that you sleep with your hair open and not with the ponytail however adorable you look. Afterall, no one wants hairfall.

Diet does play a role

A proper diet is responsible for a proper health. It is the same for maintaining your long hair. A vitamin rich diet will help maintain your long hair and enhance the overall shine and feel of it. Vitamin A & C can be consumed by eating apples, mangoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Any form of milk product and fatty fish like tuna, mackerel, etc can help consume Vitamin B & D. Another thing one should know is adding Vitamin E in the hair care regimen is a good option. It is naturally very favourable for hair and should be resorted to on a regular basis.

It’s not about having long hair. It’s about having long hair that looks nice and attractive. Proper maintenance of your long hair is the key.

Hair Growth – Tips on How to Enhance the Pace

Hair enthusiasts should understand that there is no definite shortcut or an overnight secret ingredient that will help one grow hair quicker. However, one can appreciate the chances of hair growth by minimizing damage and ensuring the prevalence of hair that is healthy. The following hair growth tips will help one achieve the desired results.

Periodic Trimming

As strange as it might sound, a visit to the hair salon every once in a while is important. A haircut will not enhance the rate of hair growth but it will help maintain the original rate by keeping away split ends. Not eliminating split ends will result in them climbing to the higher strands and causing breakage. Trimming off the split ends will bring about the appearance of smoother hair and not lead to hair losing strength. Most importantly, it will prevent hair loss and maintain the normal rate of hair growth.

Feed your Scalp

Hair Stylists often suggest that oiling the scalp on a regular basis is a very good habit. The hair follicles get stimulated as a result of better blood circulation on the application of oil. The ideal food for your scalp can be any oil rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids. For ex- castor oil. Regularly applying castor oil, coconut oil, or almond oil will lead to healthier hair and increase the rate of hair growth. Thus, a healthy scalp will help in fostering conditions for rapid hair growth.

Preventing Hair Loss is the key

Frequent visits to professional hair salons are not necessary to prevent hair loss. It is the simple things that we do wrong that can lead to excess hair fall. It is a simple fact that no matter how much your rate of hair growth is if you keep losing hair, it does not make a difference. Hair loss can be prevented by brushing with care in a bottom to top fashion, allowing the hair to air dry on most occasions, getting rid of locks before brushing in a non-rigorous way, avoiding split ends, and by limiting the uses of a coarse towel.

Type of Diet

The rate of hair growth certainly depends on the kind of diet that one subjects him/herself to. Ideally, in order to enhance the growth of hair, a diet rich in protein is advisable. Minerals like iron, zinc, and magnesium are also very advantageous for hair growth. Apart from this, the intake of vitamins is very important, especially food that is rich in Vitamin A,B,C & E. Vitamin B-complex is also very much essential in order to have an enhanced hair growth.

Conditioner- A must

We are used to going to professional hair stylists regularly for some or the other treatment like coloring, spa, smoothening, etc. As a result of these treatments, the hair strands become considerably thin. The proteins in the hair are replaced and the cuticles get sealed as a result of frequent use of the conditioner. This helps in limiting hair damage and also prevents unnecessary hair loss. For this purpose, conditioner must be used frequently especially after shampooing.

It has to be understood that expecting overnight results with regards to faster hair growth is an unreasonable claim. The above-mentioned factors should be catered to effectively for over a period of time in order to achieve the most favorable results.

hair split ends

The Complete Guide on How to Deal with Split Ends

Our hair is exposed to various procedures and treatments on a regular basis that involves shampooing, combing, styling, coloring, etc. As a result of this, the hair cuticle wears off by getting eroded leaving the layer off inner hair exposed. This can cause considerable damage to the hair resulting in the prevalence of split ends. Let us have a look at how split ends can be effectively managed and eliminated.

Periodic Cutting and Trimming

The interval within which one requires a haircut or a trim depends on the growth, texture and the amount of care associated with one’s hair. No matter how much we cater to our hair, it is quite impossible to avoid split ends completely. This is why one should visit the salon frequently to chop off the split ends. If split ends exist and hair is allowed to keep growing, then the number of split ends will just increase. It is not right to leave the split ends unattended as it might crawl up to the root of the hair and make matters worse. Thus, periodic cutting and/or trimming is a must.

Concentrate on the scalp while shampooing

It is not advisable to pile up the entire volume of hair into one and scrub rigorously. This ensures that the hair loses its shape and orientation and increases the chances for the development of split ends. Ideally, the hair should be kept loose hanging down and and the froth should be predominant on the scalp and around. The shampoo should be allowed to trickle down the threads left loose while rinsing it off. This will help in retaining the orientation of the hair and considerably decrease the chances of the prevalence of split ends.

Appropriate Use of Towel

A lot of care has to be taken while drying up the wet hair. A towel should not be used aimlessly by being vigorous with the hair. Instead, the wet hair should be wrapped in a towel or anything pertaining to a softer material and pressed gently to let the moisture and the water out. The rest of the hair should be allowed to air-dry as this is the most effective kind of drying which will also help in avoiding the development of split ends. A hair dryer may also be used for drying at a medium or preferably a low level, but air-drying wins it hands down.

Brush/Comb with hair

Often, it is us that leads to the detriment of our hair rather than any external influence like chemicals and alike. Brushing/Combing should be done in a gentle manner with care. Ideally, one should start with the lower ends first and then move up gradually. It is not advisable to carry on combing if the hair is entangled. It should be untangled first with fingers or any other uniform and sleek object and then combing should be continued. Over brushing is not recommended. Another thing that should be kept in mind is that the best time to comb hair is when it is completely devoid of any kind of moisture.

Proper Conditioning

Frizz and split ends can occur for reasons more than one. Apart from the aimless use of the comb chemicals, factors like over exposure of hair in the sun or cold can lead to the same as well. Frequent conditioning of the affected areas will help in eliminating the frizz and the split ends and provide a more polished look. One of the better conditioners includes oil that can have a significant effect on the damaged hair. The recommended oils may be simple coconut oil, almond oil, etc. One should apply them gently on the damaged areas and let it be for a prolonged period of time and the results will be there to witness.

Trendy Women Hairstyles for Straight Hair- 2016

Straight Hair Styling first originated towards the very end of the 19th century and ever since it has evolved in leaps and bounds. The smooth, uniform texture provides one with a distinct advantage in looking pretty. Class can be effortlessly associated with this form of styling owing to the shine it naturally exhibits due to the flat surface of the hair. Let’s have a look at 5 viable experiments that can be implemented on straight hair by taking into consideration various face shapes.

Chunky Fringe

A bold style that exhibits rich class and makes an immediate impression. It can be acquired without much of a hassle by just undergoing periodic heat treatments. Maintenance is the key as it should be ensured that all strands are straight, as otherwise it would look unkempt. Generally, women with a face shape that is long can adhere to this style to ensure a smooth and uniform look.

Blunt Bangs

Blunt Bangs is a trendy style that can be perfected on straight hair of different lengths. Women with large foreheads can resort to this style in order to hide the extra margins, but with the assistance of a straight haircut of medium length. The length can vary from person to person in accordance with different face shapes.

Melted Shag

Another trendy style popular among women is the melted shag which is applicable for women with long straight hairstyles. If the entire stretch of hair is demarcated into three-quarters, the entire stretch till the bottom (third) quarter is to remain plain and smooth. The third quarter is improvised by effective ironing to give it a distinguished look and texture. The smoothness can be maintained by carefully catering to all sections of the hair while straightening and is the most advisable for women with round faces.

Round Layers

One might complain of hair falling on the face, especially the ones with straight hair. In order to avoid this, round layers ensure that the front layers remain relatively short with it extending towards the back. Styling agents are to be used in order to ensure the same and effective ironing has to be resorted to for proper smoothening. Optimum levels of heat treatment are also advisable for relevant enhancement of the same. Mainly women having a wide face shape can opt for this hairstyle in order to receive the desired outcome.

The Craze of Cappucino

A perfect color contrast is to be achieved with the shades of cinnamon and vanilla. Huge, thick bangs can be associated with this style that helps in covering up the entire stretch of the forehead and a major part of the eye. Post shower, the bangs in the front should be aimed at drying first and then the subsequent smoothening of the rest of the portion should be taken into account. The overall color contrast should be that of cappuccino as the name suggests. One significant factor about this style is that it sits really well on those with thick hair. The advantage though is that this hairstyle can be donned by women with all kinds of face shapes.

The concept of straight hair has reached a new height in the fashion world over the years and it can safely be claimed that in the years to come, one can expect more evolution and breakthroughs in the improvisation of this one of a kind hairstyle.

double braided hairstyles

It is basically an Edgy French Braid Ponytail tutorial which goes perfectly for clean and greasy hair as well, but your hair needs to be at least shoulder length to get the style.

  1. To start with, you need to section the front portion of your hair into a “V” and continue doing a French Braid. As you need a wide braid in the front, so start taking a bigger section at the front. After taking the front hair potion, continue braiding just like the normal with the front section only. Secure it with a rubber band. You can use hair spray to get a perfect finish.

  2. Next, continue with the upside down braiding of your hair. Take a large section of hair from the back, divide it into three sections and continue braiding just like the normal french braid. Secure it with elastic and use hair spray for a perfect braid.

  3. After completing two braids, you should have two neat french braids (normal and upside down) and two loose sides of your hair without any braids.

  4. Now, you need to join these two sides into a high ponytail. To do this, brush the sides well and then secure the two braids and these loose hair portions together with a good band to get the perfect braided ponytail.

  5. Open your braids after the making ponytail to get the high upside down french braided ponytail.

French braid ponytail comes with different styles and hairdos that should make you remember among your friends and folks.

However, this hair style is not very suitable if you have a high forehead. But don’t worry, there is an alternative hairdo much similar to this one for you too.

  1. For this style, you need to braid two sides of your hair and get two neat braids. You can apply hair spray to get a neat look.

  2. Tease the front portion of your hair for the ponytail to add extra texture to your hair. You should start it from the back edges of your hair.

  3. You can add further styling by allowing some loose bangs to highlight your face and finish it off with hair spray.

Tips For The Style

  1. It is normal to feel that you are going wrong when making the upside down braid, as you cannot see your braid. It happened to me, and I had to redo it twice. But, if you can make a normal front french braid, stay confident as you can do the upside down one too. No need for any REDO.

  2. Use hair sprays to keep your braid neat and out of any mess.

  3. If you have curly hair, your hair will easily get tangled. To avoid this, brush your hair often while styling and keep it tangle-free.

If you want to achieve a voluminous hair, you can make your hair wavy overnight and that too naturally. All you need is to do is dampen your hair, make 3 -4 braids (however you feel like) and get a good sleep with these braids. The next morning you will get up with nice and wavy hair.

Wavy hair creates a great voluminous braid. So, go for it and enjoy braiding!

You can also style it to double braided side ponytail, double braided messy bun, and double braided side messy bun too.

Hope this post help you in braiding and styling. I am looking for your happy feedback on the same.

Most of the girls want to be that adorable little mermaid of our bedtime stories. But that red locks is not that likeable for all. Thankfully, now the RED has completely been replaced by a soft blend of cerulean, turquoise, and silver hue. A little pinch of well-blended teal hue just at the ends of your blonde hair will bring you that perfect mermaid looks that you always cherished.

This trend is perfect for cool and pale toned girls. Blonde hair is ideal for the styling, as it needs less effort to bring live to that color.

However, if you have the curly coil hair, a subtle ombre hair styling will suit you best. It instantly freshen up and provide you a sun-kissed look. Warm or caramel skin tone goes well with this look. You can end up your styling by trying out a French Braid.

ombre hair color

  • Bronze Ombre

Rich dark brown hair (or even black hair) flowing down to caramel brown also presents an eye soothing Ombre style. Pairing your locks with some extra volume should turn heads wherever you go!

If warm color flatters your skin tone, bronze hair color should be your selection. Dark hair with brown roots makes it easy to achieve this style. While blondes may find it difficult, as they need to dye the entire length to get the desired outcome, it should be an easy style tip for the Asian counterparts.

You can also make your ombre pop by adding volumes to it and curling it using hair rollers. To get an additional effect, consider adding nice curls into lightened ends.

The interplay of brunette hair color and warmer tones suits the Asian skin tone. This look works great with added volume by backcombing the base.

  • Contrasting Ombre

This is another example of combination hair color, where medium to dark brown locks can enjoy a subtle flow into bright blonde. This marks a bold statement and is quite easy to maintain. This combination also looks fabulous in updos and braids.

Though lighter skin tone always looks stunning with this styling, but you can also get this look if you have a dark skin tone after judging the perfect color that suits your skin tone and then customizing the style.

If your hair is long and strong, it is wise to consider end lightening, as with this you can achieve the Ombre look without damaging the ends.

  • Dipped Ombre

Many times we fail to select between the warm and cool tone and end up with an inappropriate hair color selection. But with Ombre coloring, you cannot make any mistake!

Even if you are confused, you can add light and dark hue alike! A very common dipped ombre combination is the dark chocolate hue that transits into sandy blonde. This works well with almost all skin tone and best suits an olive, golden and peach complexion.

The ribbon looks can be carried easily by any skin tone. Even if your hair is damaged, grab some bright colors to get the look and cover up your damages.

Ombre hairstyle does not always mean darker at the roots and lighter to the ends, you can reverse the idea to get a flawless reverse ombre hair color. Reverse Ombre looks best on blondes who have natural light-colored roots. You can add a warm mahogany transition from bright blonde to retain the lightness around your face. A lighter tip and dark end make the hair look naturally thick and smooth.
